Dr. Rajan Mahtani defamed for Lamasat Extortion

In a case which can only be termed as a ‘maligning effort’, Zambia Reports has once again tried its level best to defame Dr. Rajan Mahtani. As per the latest publication from the infamous news portal, it has been conveyed that Dr. Mahtani is operating Finance Bank Zambia from behind and trying to take over Lamasat. It is a well-known fact that Finance Bank Zambia is no longer in hands of Dr. Mahtani, yet Zambia gets to witness such rubbish articles every now and then.

The author article of the defamatory is Evans Mulenga, a fictitious identity who is only present as a name in the office of Zambia Reports. In reality, it is the minds of the conspirators who are playing the game and trying to seek revenge of the past. When it comes to clarification, Lamasat had earlier availed a loan of $ 10, 000, 000 from Finance bank of Zambia against the promise of repaying the same in 60 equal instalments. However, as time went by the promises started to fade and the true intent of the borrower was revealed. Witnessing an alarming situation, BancABC preferred to make the call and hence, the demand for loan repayment was made.

It is absolutely shocking to see how the authors of Zambia Reports have tried to create an issue of the whole situation. Not only they are trying to bend facts and circumstances in the favour of the party at fault, but they are also trying to satisfy their carve for defaming Dr. Rajan Mahtani. It was only a few months back when the same channel claimed that Finsbury Investments, where Dr. Rajan Mahtani holds an important position, has been named in the Panama papers for tax evasion. For people who are still unaware of the connection between BancABC and Finance Bank of Zambia, the former has taken over the later in 2016 at a value of $ 62 million.
