Success and growth comes again to Zambezi Portland with ISO certification

With the advent of the New Year 2015, the Zambian citizens have been observing numerous positive events. One common thread linking all these events is Dr. Rajan Mahtani, who owns the FBZ (Finance Bank of Zambia) as well as the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory. While the FBZ recently tested success when FBZ was made public and granted stock trading options, another auspicious event occurred on Thursday, 15th Jan for the Zambezi Portland when it was awarded the ISO (International Standard Organization) 9001:2008 certifications for the quality management process. This certification, which was given by ZABS (Zambia Bureau of Standard), signifies that the Portland cement factory will now be able to efficiently promote its resources, reduce costs of operations as well as earn higher profit margins.

Zambezi Portland Cement 2015Dr. Rajan Mahtani commenting on the event said that the ISO certification will help in expanding the firm’s global as well as regional business opportunities. He also stated that the certification will aid in better planning and execution of strategies and operational processes.

The event was lauded by the Chairperson of the ZABS, David Nawa. According to him, the certification was an accomplishment for both ZPC and his institution.
