The people of Zambia in general and Ndola in particular would not have thought that their very own Zambezi Portland Cement would be dismantled in this way. A cement factory that had seen better days is now being slowly tortured to death following the loot of cash from the factory cashbox and reallocation of assets of the parties to external companies. This is how a flourishing factory has been reduced to ashes within a matter of one and half years.

For people who have been associated with Zambezi Portland Cement for long, it would not be difficult to recall the fact that this is the same factory that had the potential to generate USD 5 million on a monthly basis and in the past few months this factory has not even generated a dollar from its activity. Must be wondering why? Well, with the courtesy of Ital Terrazzo Limited, the Ventriglia family has managed to extract every single penny from the factory and has left the factory deserted. There is no existing work force who would contribute to the production process and moreover, there is no raw material to start the production process. The only thing that is present in the factory is misery and corruption.

Zambezi Portland Cement factory has seen it all. The good days were lived under the management of Finsbury Investment and the horrific end came in the hands of Ital Terrazzo Limited. In the meantime, some workers were fortunate enough to find employment in the factory and feed their family. With time, no action has been taken from the end of the Government, making it obvious that the survival of this factory doesn’t concerns the Government. Therefore, it wouldn’t be wrong to state that Zambezi Portland Cement is slowing drowning in the quick sand of the conspiracy hatched by the conspirators while others watch helplessly.
