Supreme Court Declares Finance Bank As Winner In The Simaata Case

Finance Bank Zambia has gained positive reputation and respect over the years. It is one of the most flourishing banks across Zambia and seen a steep rise in growth and development over the past few years. It is also among those few institutions with prime objective of serving the nation and its people. Therefore, it came as a shock when Finance Bank was found to be at the crossroads and the target of a staunch critic, Simaata Simaata. Finance Bank was founded by Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, one of the most respected and followed businessmen across Zambia. He is not only famous for bringing international investments in Zambian soil, but is also respected for his welfare activities towards the people of Zambia. He is responsible for building many institutions and organizations have work towards improving the economic conditions of various provinces across Zambia.

The news regarding Finance Bank Zambia and Simaata quickly became a national phenomenon. Simaata was previously an employee of the bank. However, his unethical activities proved to be detrimental for Finance Bank’s reputation and he was removed from the bank. It seems like Simaata did not take his ouster from the bank well and started to conspire against it. Soon there were testimonials against the bank and his previous associates including Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Even though these testimonials were entirely his own without any evidences or factual support, it resulted in spreading of negative rumours and loss of reputation for the bank. Furthermore, Simaata also released sensitive statements to local newspapers causing further damage to the bank. All these activities eventually forced the bank to register case against Simaata at the Supreme Court Zambia, to seek rightful justice.

The results of the case are known to all. Simaata was charged guilty for damaging the bank’s reputation. He was also asked to pay fine for violating the agreement with Finance Bank. It is safe to say that Simaata was served justice for his unlawful acts.
