Forbes Presents Dr. Mahtani Win Notable Philanthropy Award

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted charity worker and philanthropist from Zambia, was recently awarded with one of the most respected and notable philanthropic awards across Africa. This award is known as the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards and was created and conducted by Forbes along with Foreign Investment Limited (FIN). The award ceremony was a part of the annual Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference, held in the month of August 2021. Unlike the usual conference held at New York, this year’s conference was held online via video conference and broadcasted via the YouTube platform. This was due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has gripped the entire world. Nevertheless, there was no death of passion among the speakers and participants, and it was an astounding success with participants discussing about diverse topics, need of the hour as well as ensuring financial funding for ongoing and upcoming projects across Africa. Several critical members graced this event including members from international business communities, opinion leaders, politicians, entrepreneurs, policymakers, religious leaders, media partners as well as international investors.
Forbes recognised the significant contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani over the course of four decades. For this, Dr. Mahtani was conferred with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani accepted the award in a humble manner and thanked Almighty God as well as his team members for their innumerable support and giving him strength during the challenging times. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is the owner of several successful companies such as Mahtani Group and Finsbury Investments. His company Mahtani Group was established in the year 1981 and since then, grew to become one of the biggest conglomerates across Africa. The company expanded to several sectors including agriculture, mining, real estate, insurance, and several others. In a comparable manner, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was recognised for his philanthropic and charitable contributions. Some of his most recognised charitable contributions include Prison Fellowship Zambia and Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
