Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist from Zambia, was recently awarded with the prestigious ‘Best of Africa’ awards by Forbes. Forbes in partnership with FIN (Foreign Investment Network) conducts one of the most anticipated business events in Zambia. This event is Forbes-FIN Philanthropy and Leadership roundtable conference. Usually, the business event takes place in New York during the UNGA meetings. However, this year’s roundtable conference was confided to a virtual meeting as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was one of the eminent business personalities invited as honorary speakers during the event.
A major highlight of the roundtable conference was the Forbes-FIN ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony. It is one of the most anticipated events by the experts. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was presented with the ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021 for his significant philanthropic and leadership contributions as well as redefining the financial and banking sector of Zambia. Furthermore, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was among the first from Zambia to be recognised with such a prestigious award. Several other leaders were recognised and awarded for their leadership and philanthropic contributions.

The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards are recognised across the globe. The awardees are selected after months of rigorous process which includes interviews, discussions, thorough verifications by Forbes as well as FIN. The online event was started by none other than Mark Furlong who is the founder and publisher of the Forbes International as well as FAM (Forbes Afrique Media). Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani accepted his award with grace and humility. In his acceptance speech, Dr. Rajan Mahtani thanked God for always blessing him despite the numerous challenges he faced in his life. Dr. Rajan Mahtani said that he was honoured and humbled with this award and never expected his philanthropic contributions being recognised by international media. He also thanked his team for their excellent work which according to Dr. Mahtani, was the reason for his continued success across businesses.
