Every time an individual rises in business, there will be tens of people trying to bring him down. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted businessman across Zambia. His institutions like Finance Bank Zambia and Portland Cement are prime examples of his dedication towards community and economic progression. As a result, he has always been hated by individuals who always want to see this nation burn. Most of the time, Dr. Mahtani turns a blind eye to various accusations and negative posts written about him. These activities are just a source to distract him from his businesses. However, there are times when some people go too far in terms of unlawful practices, which can serious hurt the reputation and businesses. In this case, even soft-hearted people like Dr. Mahtani are bound to take actions.

A recent turn of events created a stir in the industry. An individual named Simaata Simaata had made serious allegations against Dr. Rajan Mahtani and Finance Bank Zambia. This individual used to be an employee of Finance Bank and was ousted from the bank after engaging in the unethical practice.  In order to save the reputation of the bank, he entered an agreement with the bank for not disclosing sensitive documents. For this, he was also paid a good sum. However, being an open critic of Dr. Rajan Mahtani, Simaata did not respect the agreement and went ahead to violate them. He gave several testimonials at courts against the bank and Dr. Mahtani. He made serious allegations against them with respect to fraud and money laundering. Furthermore, he also leaked several sealed documents and sensitive statements to a local newspaper.

All these activities resulted in a reputational loss for the bank and it was forced to sue Simaata Simaata for his deed. When the case was taken to Supreme Court, the judges gave the verdict that he was indeed guilty of the activities and will be paying fine for his misconduct. He will also be watched by the government so that he does not engage in similar activities in future.
